SORBET is the debut solo project from Chris W Ryan, a drummer, producer, and vocalist known for his work with Robocobra Quartet. Released in 2020 via the respected German label Bureau B, Life Variations marks his first release under the SORBET name — a bold and introspective entry into the world of electronic music.

Life Variations is a three-track suite born from a single chord progression that Ryan returned to "many times, years apart," ultimately crystallizing it during lockdown into something fully realized. The result is a seamless blend of traditional songwriting, sound design, and classical composition — a meditation on life itself that blurs genre boundaries and points toward a distinctive and compelling artistic voice.
