Released in 2021 on the esteemed Denovali Records label, Minotaurus is the debut offering from Mansur, a project brought to life by Jason Kohnen, formerly of The Kilimanjaro Darkjazz Ensemble, alongside Dimitry El-Demerdashi and vocalist Martina Horváth. Drawing from the dark, atmospheric sensibilities its members are known for, the project merges electronic and jazz influences into something hauntingly distinctive.

Recorded as a live improvisation session, Minotaurus takes its thematic inspiration from Greek mythology, with each of its six tracks named after figures from the legend of the Minotaur — Pasiphae, Minos, Daedalus, Theseus, Ariadne, and Aegeus. The result is an organic, spontaneous listening experience that feels both cinematic and raw, making it a compelling addition for fans of experimental electronic music and dark jazz alike.
