Manizeh - Mahku (LP)

Manizeh Rimer, founder of London's Love Supreme Projects, makes her debut with Mahku, a bold and deeply personal entry into contemporary spiritual jazz. Co-produced with frequent collaborator ganavya and recorded at LEITER's Funkhaus Studio in Berlin, the album weaves together eight chants featuring a remarkable ensemble including Grammy-nominated Jai Uttal, harpist Miriam Adefris, and pianist Jay Verma.

The title Mahku — meaning "eclipse" — carries layered significance, shared by both Manizeh's grandmother and her teenage daughter, who appears on the album as a vocalist and guitarist. Themes of ancestry, continuity, and intergenerational connection run throughout, culminating in a deeply moving reimagining of Fleetwood Mac's "Landslide" that brings the album's emotional arc full circle.
