Kandodo - Dusk/Dawn (LP)

Kandodo is the solo project of Simon Price, singer and guitarist of The Heads, whose upbringing in Zambia and Malawi has long shaped the project's distinctive identity. Solstice Dusk / Dawn, released in 2025 on Cardinal Fuzz, finds Price in what he describes as "full expansion mode" — building from a single loop recorded on a winter solstice day and layering in guitars, keyboards, bass, fuzz, flange, and more, all locked into an endlessly cycling key.

The result is a dubbed, delayed, and distorted sonic journey that Price himself calls "an aural equinox" — two mixes of the same source material that are, as he puts it, "same but different." Presented in a bespoke deluxe screen printed outer sleeve with a double-sided color insert, this is a beautifully packaged release from one of the more inventive explorers in psychedelic and experimental rock.
