Recorded in June 1971 at Piero Umiliani's Sound Workshop studio in the heart of Rome, Olimpiade is a landmark of Italian jazz featuring trumpeter Francesco "Cicci" Santucci and saxophonist Enzo Scoppa, two musicians who honed their craft in the late '50s with the Modern Jazz Gang alongside other celebrated Italian jazz figures. Under the guiding hand of "il maestro" Piero Umiliani, the session captures a vibrant and distinctly Italian voice in jazz that has stood the test of time.

Now reissued by Le Très Jazz Club in 2025, Olimpiade brings this rare and historically significant recording back to vinyl for a new generation of listeners and enthusiasts.
