Night-Time Birds is the captivating debut album from Akane, the solo project of Carolina Machado, known for her dynamic work as drummer and singer in Tenerife’s psychedelic space rock band Gaf y La Estrella de la Muerte. Blending electronic textures with rock influences, Akane’s sound offers a fresh and atmospheric take that reflects the experimental spirit thriving in the Canary Islands.

Recorded live during a mesmerizing performance at the 2022 Keroxen festival inside a disused gas tank, the album features seven immersive tracks and a special collaboration with guitarist César Chinarro. The raw energy and unique setting of the recording capture Akane’s inventive approach, making Night-Time Birds a remarkable document of creative exploration within the burgeoning Canary music scene.
